This was in my matchups, but I want to confirm that it is going on (I got several today)
They are on 50% off sale for $3.99 and there was a $4 coupon in the 8/8 SS
The coupon will beep because of the penny overage so there are a few options:
- cashier can adjust the coupon down to $3.99
- cashier can adjust the price of the item up to $4
- you can buy one more item than coupons
- cashier can manually enter a manuf $4 coupon
Each store will have their own policy because Walgreens doesn’t have a corporate coupon policy in place and allows each store to create their own rules (which is why they are so frustrating to shop at)

Went to one store on Old St Augustine in Jacksonville, FL the cahsier and mgr were VERY rude about this. Left with nothing. Went to another Walgreens off Baymeadows rd and the cashier was VERY friendly and so was the manager!! Depends on where ya go for this deal!
Yep, thats the most frustrating part about Walgreens… since there is no corporate policy, each store will treat you differently with coupons. Its ridiculous for them not to have a standard policy for all stores!!!
I tried to go to one Walgreens yesterday and the cashier told me to stop my scamming and so I left the store. I went to another one and the cashier was so very nice. He adjusted the price to $4 and it was fine. I had a stack of coupons (I got the tape, the Listerine, and razors) and he did all the coupons with no problems. I have to stop trying the first Walgreens but its on the way to my gym and so convenient!
UGH that makes me so mad when they call it scamming or coupon fraud…. its called SMART SHOPPING. Why do cashiers get their panties in a bunch like that???
I sent my husband to the store because I had to work late. And he said he had not problems what so ever. I agree with you Amy it is called Smart Shopping, it is not like we are printing the coupons on that speical paper the S/S prints their coupons on.
Same prolems here. The manager got rude and told me it was illegal for her to adjust the price of the coupon or product. I guess the coupon police will be arresting the girl at the next Wags that sold me three!!!
Same to me. But here in Texas Manager was so rude, because she said, they can not adjust the price, so I leave the store with nothing :<
Personally, corporate policy or no policy, i would call corporate anyway and tell them about your experience. There is NO reason for an employee or manager to be rude to you. PERIOD.
hi guys. Not sure, but I heard that Walgreens is suppose to be implementing a National coupon policy on Aug.26. It’s suppose to be on their website then. I hope it’s true.
Yea I just read that on wildforwags or hcw…. then the issue will just be getting each store to follow it LOL
