Drain Claw Review and Giveaway

Having 2 people in my household with long hair, we often have issues with slow or clogged drains.  I have tried many liquids to clear the clog and it never works well for long because I don’t think it really CLEARS the hair from the drain.  When I saw The Drain Claw, I knew that it would be the perfect solution to our drain problem.

With over 100 hooks to grab hair, it just takes a twisting motion to capture the hair that is trapped in a clogged bath or sink drain.  It will even pass through the pop up plug without having to remove it.

To use it, its simple, you just straighten out the wire and push it down the drain.  Then twist it around, move it up and down a little and pull it back up with all the hair attached to it.  Below is a picture of the drain claw down my sink… you do NOT want to see all the hair it pulled out (it was GROSS).  Another thing that I really liked about it is that when its not in use, it takes up such a small space in your cabinet or garage !

You can GO HERE to order (1) Drain Claw for $6.99 or a 3-pack for $14.99.

Now onto the giveaway…

One reader is going to win a Drain Claw of their own.  To enter this giveaway, tell me what you use right now to clear clogs.

I will end this giveaway on 9/26 at 5 pm EST

I don’t really know what my hubby uses. It’s too gross, so I just stay away when he does it

  3. usually liquid plumr

  4. Right now all we use is Drano, but it’s not cutting it :( .

  5. Jennifer S R says:

    Boiling hot water regularly

  6. We tried baking soda and vinegar but it didn’t work so we had to bring the hose in and flush it out. That worked, but big hassle!

  7. I straighten out a hanger!

  8. Usually Liquid Plumber

  9. My apartment complex will send someone to come and clean it out. However, I would love to have one of these to keep my drains clear before it gets to the point where I need to call someone :)

  10. We use liquid stuff that doesn’t work well at all.

  11. I use a plunger and alot of cursing.

  12. Right now, our only clog is in the bath tub. It still drains, just very slowly. We haven’t done anything yet to fix it. It would be great to be able to try this out! :)

  13. Drano

  14. Having 4 with long hair I’ve had to put my PLUMBER on speed dial (embarrassing). Would really like to give my plumber a break. I would really like to try that gadget. Thanks

  15. Every 3 weeks or so I have to use a long fingernail file and a pair of tweezers to get that horrible (and stinky) mess out of the tub drain. Since we have hpvc pipes, I can’t use Drano. The drain claw would be sooooo wonderful for me!

  16. my hubby take the drain a part and grabs it with his hands, after hooking it with a coat hanger! yuck!

  17. Michelle O. says:

Vinegar and baking soda. Would love to try one of these – thanks!

  18. I use a straightened coat hanger with a tiny hook bent on the end . Works, but only gets the junk near the top.

  19. Lisa Goodall says:

We have used a coat hanger and other things to dig out the hair and of course liquid drano. I would love to try this new claw thing. Thanks

  20. nicole alton says:

We use liquid plumer and needle nose pliers. I shed a lot so we could really use that cool new product.

  21. A long wire.

  22. I use roto-rooter pipe shield, but you have to let it sit overnight in the drain. I have very long hair, would love to win the claw.

  27. Usually an old clothes hanger, yuck…

  28. I use drano

  29. I use a toothpick or my finger!

  30. Lisa Hoover says:

    A Plumber!!!!!

  31. Draino

  32. I use Draino now.

  33. vinegar and baking soda. this sounds much better and safer

  34. I use almost anything that anyone suggests that works for them. Most times the suggestions work for me also. I thought that I needed a drain cleaner Thursday afternoon; however, the plumber found that there was a problem with the drain mechanism which he repaired.

  35. I use the cheap $0.99 plastic thingy that functions similar to the item shown. Hoping this is easier and better!

  36. I use a plunger to clear the drain in the kitchen. The bathroom drain is hopeless (unless of course I win this.)

  38. Baking soda and vinegar for me.

  39. Drano!

  40. drano

  41. I have used something similar to the one shown but don’t know where my daughter put it so I’m gonna have to buy a new one. This one looks like it has more ‘hooks’ so I would love to try it.

  42. Liquid Plumber.

  43. drano

  44. Drano. I’m going to try this vinegar and baking soda now.

  46. use a hanger or drano

  47. Colette Whicker says:

I let my husband take care of it, so he would probably love it if I got something to use that I would actually do. :)

  48. yeah.. this is exactly what my tubby needs. my hair is so so thick and constantly plugs the drain. my mother and i fight constantly cus of my laziness in preventing it from happening beforehand. also we argue cus i think its grose me that she uses a fork as her tool. this is a matchmade from heaven for someone w/ horse’s hair and a big tub w/ a lil ol drain.

  49. I use tweezers lol

  50. Sonia Morris says:

I use a liquid that my local hardware store recommended.

  51. drano is what we use now

  52. I have used a hanger before or drano but would love to try this.

  53. I have a 25′ long drain snake. That is just way to long. LOL

  54. I use a plunger and a straighten hanger and boiling hot water.

  55. Boiling water and degreaser work well

  56. Using a snake would be a lot harder then the Drain Claw.

  57. We pour bleach down the drains right now. Not sure if it’s good for the pipes or really helps though…

  58. Paula Rowell says:

I have been known to use a crochet hook before..

  59. metal coat hanger

  60. Hot hot water!

  61. Hot water and vinegar

  62. I use tweezers, (I have a special pair for drains, lol). If that doesn’t work its off to the baking soda and boiling water.
