Things are starting to look better since my last update on Sunday night. They started her on antibiotics and steroids and her energy level is up a lot. She also hasn’t thrown up in 3 days so that is GREAT. Today they moved her up to a full liquid diet so she was able to eat some chicken noodle soup. However, she is so hungry all the time and spent the entire day uploading pics of all her favorite foods to facebook (silly teenager).
Even though there have been some good improvements, she is not super close to going home quite yet. She is still bleeding a LOT when she goes to the bathroom and she is still going very often so they need to monitor her closely. Her biopsy was supposed to come back today so I should get the results of that tomorrow when the Dr comes in to see us. This will most likely confirm their diagnosis of Ulcerative Colitis.
I am truly thankful for being in this hospital. They are the kindest group of nurses, doctors, volunteers, etc. Today a clown from the Downtown Disney Cirque du Soleil show came to visit and had her cracking up. And yesterday they invited her to make Christmas ornaments for their Christmas Gala which raises money for the children’s hospital. Ronald McDonald even stopped by to say hi (sadly, I didn’t get a pic of his visit). They are really making her feel loved and special while being here !!!

So glad she is doing much better …. Will continue to pray for Kaley and family….

You are definitely in good hands at Florida Hospital for Children! That is where we go, if ever we have an emergency. They know kids! And, what they need. Truly a well thoughtout hospital.
I will ALWAYS be coming here whenever I have an emergencies with my kids even though its a much farther drive… this place is just so awesome !
