Uses  $5 off $30 Grocery Purchase Target printable coupon and paid $4.45 after tax

I got in Trip #2:

Uses  $5 off $30 Grocery Purchase Target printable coupon and paid $5.17 after tax (should have paid $4.17)

Also I wanted to remind everyone to WATCH YOUR RECIEPTS.  Everytime I get this one cashier she messes up and I usually watch her like a hawk.  Today she was the ONLY cashier open so I had to go through her lane and the guy behind me started asking me a ton of coupon questions so I wasn’t paying good enough attention and once again coupons were missed.  Luckily I knew the total was too high so I went to CS and got $2 back (and then I noticed ANOTHER $1 coupon she missed after I got home UGH).  I really wonder if she does it on purpose because she also gives me a TON of attitude about coupons every time (even down to complaining about them not being cut close enough to the coupon).

  1. I went this morning but still have another 6 or so trips to do in the next few days. I got:
    10 cat treats
    12 knorr pasta sides
    6 olive cans
    10 beachnut fruities
    2 kraft mayo
I got $10.92 in overage which I put on a gift card for later. I will do this at least 5 more times and if I can find some vitamins and those quaker stilla bars that taste like tree bark I should be able to pull in another $100 or so in overage. Those target $5/$30 are great because if you have people i.e. coupon bodies with you then you can stack them as long as you have increments of $30 in groceries.

  2. Amy, I have the same problem with the coupons all not being reflected on my receipt. I tend to only give them a couple coupons at a time, it makes it easier to catch mistakes

    • I used to do that and then I was getting so much attitude about it from cashiers… I guess I am going back to that method because I am seriously over losing money because of their mistakes !!!

      • I don’t hand them over one at a time, but I do break them down into groups so I can try to keep an eye on what’s being scanned. First any $X/$XX coupon, then all Publix coupons together, then all vendor coupons together. And if I have 8 or 10 of one kind of coupon I will usually give those separately and say “here are 8 of these beech-nut coupons” or something so they will be aware of how many there are. I too have gotten attitude from cashiers, but only on occasion – “just give them all to me now.” But inevitably when I do that, they take them and separate them and spread them all around on the counter and start scanning randomly and they almost always miss at least one that way. I want to say, just scan them the way I gave them to you because I had it all organized!

        • thats how I used to do it and I was getting so many cashiers telling me to just hand them over and when I explained that too many times coupons get missed when I do that they would pretty much get mad that I even insinuated that they would miss a coupon (but of course they all do UGH)

  3. Wow. That’s for sharing.

  4. I meant “Thanks for sharing”. I got distracted by your savings.

  5. I always hand them one at a time…

  6. I can’t bring myself to hand over coupons 1 or 2 at a time – it seems demeaning but I frequently end up w/coupons not being taken off. I hate that and most stores will say I can’t prove it so I am out… Amy, I’m not saying I know what that cashier is or is not doing but my SIL had the same problem and she found out the cashier was pocketing her good coupons!!! Watch out.

    • At first I though she was just not paying enough attention but seriously she can’t possibly be THIS bad at scanning coupons can she? plus just how she acts about coupons in general makes me wonder why she is always missing so many EVERY time !!!

  7. what i do especially at publix is hand over the qpons one at a time that helps me keep up with it and watch the register at the same time

  8. jessica long says:

those idahoan coupons in the winter savings book are Manufacturers coupons so how did you combine them with the manufactures coupons ?? It has a bar code and says Manu. on the thing is there one I am not seeing some where ?? What page ?

    • I didn’t, thats why I said I THOUGHT they were store coupons and found out at the register so I had to pay $4 for 12 of them (instead of them being totally free)

  9. jessica long says:

Also was that the after 50% on the pies I am thinking of getting either a pie or a NY style sarah lee and cheapest before coupon will win the dessert off!!!

What a twit cashier, I always let my manager know and some one (usually a csm) opens up just for me

    • yes they were $6.99 and $7.99 before 50% off so that made them $3.49 and $3.99 after sale (then $1 and 55¢ coupns off that)

  10. Just a FYI there is a 1 off 3 coupon for the cat treats on coupons.com zip 77476

  11. The knorr is 1.05, and Mayo 3.75 at the cheap publix.

  12. Also with your mayo check expiration dates as it seems a lot of stores had expired one.
