In this new spin–off, the Old Lady turns into an Old Mermaid, travels down into the ocean, and swallows a shark … and a squid, and a fish, and an eel, and a crab, and a sea star, and a clam … Why? Well, it was fun to cram her mouth with a clam!
  • Hungry Shark: Official Shark-Tastic Guide (for ages 6-8) – Just in time for shark week comes this guide to all of the sharks from the Hungry Shark franchise. With exclusive info about fearsome fish like Tiger Shark and Great White, to goofballs like Mako Shark and Porbeagle, this is a guide with some serious “teeth.” Plus, comes with an awesome, exclusive poster! Captain Marvel is Now on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD

Set in the 1990s, “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that introduces the MCU’s first stand-alone, female-franchise title character—Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel. When we first meet Danvers, she already possesses her superhero powers, having left her earthly life behind and become a member of an intergalactic elite Kree military team called Starforce, led by their enigmatic commander, Yon-Rogg. But after Danvers has trained and worked with the Starforce team, and become a valued member, she finds herself back on Earth with new questions about her past. While on Earth she quickly lands on the radar of Nick Fury, and they must work together against a formidable enemy in the form of the Skrulls—the notorious Marvel bad guys made even more dangerous by their shape-shifting abilities—and their leader, Talos, who is spearheading a Skrull invasion of Earth.

“Captain Marvel” stars Academy Award® winner Brie Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel,  Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, with Annette Bening as Supreme Intelligence, with Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson and Jude Law as Yon-Rogg.

When Kaley saw the movie sitting on the counter she got so excited.  She saw it in the theater and said it is SOOOO good.  She loves that it has a strong female lead that girls can look up to.  She said it was action packed and funny and a great movie to watch with the family.  So basically she stole the Blu-Ray from me LOL

And to have a little fun after watching the movie, you can click the banner below to make your very own DIY Captain Marvel Paper Glider…

Keep Your Pup Cool This Summer with the Gen7 Cool-Air Cot Pet Bed

Summer days in Florida are either scalding hot or wet and raining.  When I was asked to review the Gen7 Cool-Air Cot Pet Bed I was excited.  Set up was simple and it can be moved around from place to place easily.  It is an ideal option for raising pets off muddy, hot or wet surfaces.  It retails for $59.99 for the medium cot which holds up to 60 lbs.

And what makes for a better summer than getting new toys and treats !  Milo loved the JW Twist- In Treats. It is designed to have treats twisted in the top so your dog can work them out.  Then once he finally got the treat out, we had a durable cool toy to play fetch with.  *It comes with one Chicken Flavored treat but they do sell refills for it.

Also you have no choking hazards to worry about with the Hol-ee Gourmet Turkey Leg, the treat toy inspired by the best-selling Hol-ee Roller.  You can remove the nylon bone from the rubber casing for a long-lasting chew toy and then you can add your dog’s favorite treats into the middle of it.

Keep the entertainment going with the new JW Sloth & Hedgehog Squeaker Balls. This rubber ball features JW’s patented squeaker technology including a tough squeaker and an erratic bounce to keep pets guessing.  I gave this to Milo and he went running into the backyard with it and I haven’t seen it since LOL.

If you have a pool or are heading to a lake or dog beach (we have one near us), the Chuckit! Amphibious Ball is the water version of their most popular and classic fetch toy, designed to float for hours of fetch and waterplay.

Romano’s Macaroni Grill Wine Tasting Dinner – Second Month

Sometimes I just love the opportunities my blog gives me and this is definitely one of those times…  I got invited to go back for the second month of the Romano’s Macaroni Grill Wine Tasting Dinner events.  I had such an incredible time last month so I was super excited to be joining them again. I was slightly worried that I would be disappointed since last month was just so fabulous but they did not disappoint me at all !!!

For those that didn’t read my review last month, you can go here to read it.  The cost is $40 per person and you get to enjoy 4 glasses of wine and a 4 course meal. Such a great deal !  I am actually going to next months event with one of my best friends.

This month’s course selections included:

  • Course 1: choice of Baked Prosciutto + Mozzarella or Signature Mac & Cheese Bites (we got one of each)
  • Course 2: choice of Chicken Florentine salad, Parmesan-Crusted Chicken Salad or soup
  • Course 3: choice of Chicken Scallopini, Chicken Rustica or Pomodoro Totellacci
  • Course 4: choice of Lemon Sorbet or Tiramisu

Everything was just so good.   The Signature Mac & Cheese Bites is made in house with 4 different cheeses (including a smoked one) and comes with a truffle cheese dipping sauce.  The Parmesan crusted chicken salad was so good that Rich said he wants to go back in a couple weeks just to get the entree sized one.  He let me get a couple bites and I agree, it was delicious.  It is a combination of fresh greens, crispy prosciutto, roma tomatoes, and parmesan-crusted chicken. Then its topped with both ranch and a balsamic glaze.  So yummy.  The biggest surprise for me was the tiramisu because I don’t really like coffee/espresso type desserts but this was truly scrumptious.  Not an overpowering espresso flavor and very creamy.

I tried to find the date for the next event and I don’t think they have announced it but once they do, I will update this post !!!

Disney’s “Aladdin” in 4DX Review

One of my all time favorite Disney movies has always been Aladdin.  I saw it in the theater in college back in like 1992 (man I am old) and even owned the Soundtrack.  When I heard they were doing a remake I was super excited and really hoped they did a good job on it.  AND THEY DID !  Many people were wondering how Will Smith would be as the genie and I have to say he was perfect.  I loved that this version stuck very close to the original story-line.  They did add a couple new songs but all the originals that I love were kept in it.  The costumes were soooo amazing.  In fact as I was walking out I overheard other people talking about how much they loved the costumes too.  The dance sequences during the songs were fantastic.  I literally has a smile on my face the whole movie and will be buying it when it comes out  on Blu-Ray/DVD.

Another reason I loved this movie so much was because I went to the 4DX theater here in Orlando.  This is my second time seeing a movie in 4DX and it really adds a whole new element to watching a movie.  The seats move, you get splashed with water, bubbles fall from the ceiling, you may even smell scents being pumped into the theater.  It is like you are in a theme park ride for the entire movie.

Some big 4DX moments in this film include:

  • A fantastic magic carpet flying sequence for the ‘A Whole New World’ scene
  • A fun Cave of Wonders sequence that feels like a Disney theme park ride
  • Jafar’s snake staff creates some fun vibration effects
  • Rain water and face spray are used to great effect in scenes with unexpected water sequences
  • Bubbles fall from the ceiling to give the feel of snow

The seats moving during the magic carpet rides really made it feel so real and I loved the falling bubbles for a cool “snow” effect.  The whole theater was in awe when that happened.  I just can’t say enough good things about this experience !
