Racor Bike Lift Review and Giveaway

My new years resolution for 2013 was to get more organized.  Thankfully, Racor is helping homeowners “Reclaim Their Garage” by offering a variety of bike storage solutions which help create safe, organized places for the family’s bikes while also freeing up much more garage space.

5 of the bike storage units that can be purchased at Walmart include:

  • Racor Bike Lift – retails for $25
  • Racor Wall Bike Stand – retails for $60
  • Racor Floor Bike Stand – retails for $40
  • Racor Single Folding Bike Rack – retails for $15
  • Racor Bike Hanger – retails for $9

And the following bike storage solutions can be purchased online @ RacorStorageSolutions.com/p/list/bike-storage:

  • Racor Bike and Ladder Lift – retails for $70
  • Racor Double Bike Rack – retails for $70
  • Racor Gravity Bike Rack – retails for $70
  • Racor Freestanding Bike Rack – retails for $120
  • Racor Double Folding Bike Rack – retails for $25
  • Racor Horizontal Folding Bike Rack – retails for $60
  • Racor Single Bike Rack – retails for $20

I was given the opportunity to review the Racor Bike Lift which is the perfect way to store a bicycle overhead.  The Bike Lift uses a rope and pulley system that is mounted to the ceiling. Raise and lower a 50-pound bike up to 12 feet by simply latching the hooks to the seat and handlebars and pulling the rope. When you’re ready to ride, unlock the rope and lower the bike, no ladders needed. The Bike Lift pulleys do most of the work, making a 50-pound bike feel like it’s only about 12 pounds.  A unique lockingmechanism holds the rope securely in place to prevent accidental release.

I was able to install the bike lift pulley system to my garage ceiling all by myself so I think most people should have no problems.  It was actually very easy to do and the instructions that they provided were so easy to follow.  They came with good pictures along with good text descriptions.  Pulling the bike up was also super easy (it felt really light) and it locked securely in place once it was raised in the air (you just pull the cord away from the bike to lock it).  Bringing the bike back down was also simple, you just pull the cord towards the bike to loosen the lock.  Since they give you a bracket to attach to a wall for you to wind the extra rope around, make sure you attach the pulley system to the ceiling near a wall.

I totally love this and its easy enough that even my kids (ages 11 and 15) can do it by themselves !!!

  60. The wall bike stand would be awesome! I have to haul my bike and a bike trailer out of my basement daily so it would be nice to have this so I could “space save” upstairs and not have up haul it up (and down a flight of stairs) with two little ones trailing behind me. Thanks for considering us!

  63. I like the Racor bike lift!

  64. We have 5 kiddos and bike clutter is a MAJOR problem for our garage. The joy of maneuvering through the minefield of wheeled items with both hands full of groceries, keys, purse and kids (and a few holding on to my legs for good measure) is a joy I could live without! I think the Floor Bike Stand would work best for us. That way the kids could put their own bikes away and get them out themselves. (anything that keeps me from being the sole putter-awayer is good for me!)

  65. I oculd use the bike lift! Thanks!

i really like them all, but my favorite one is the wall style.
this would really have come in handy when my son was racing BMX bikes! the cost of those bikes is high,so this would not only save us space, but protect the bikes as well!
