Crockpot Pot Roast Recipe Using Lipton Onion Soup Mix

lipton onion soup pot roast

I have been making this recipe for years and its one of my favorites.  Plus its so easy !!!!

Add everything into the crock pot except the potatoes and cook on high for 6 hours.  Add in potatoes and cook for another hour.  That’s it :)  The meat just pulls apart so easily and tastes amazing !!!

(I am definitely not the best food photographer lol)

I just made this tonight except I used a 99¢/lb. pork Boston Butt instead of beef. It works just as well. I like to use one can of soup and two packets of soup mix for an extra deep flavor. I was lazy and just added the potatoes tonight.

I couldn’t get the butt to fit in my crockpot, so I put it in a big pot and cooked at 350° for 4 hours, then added the potatoes (peeled and cut up) and cooked on the stove until tender.

I’m going to have to try this! It’s so easy : ) Looks really good too. Thanks for sharing!

  3. I made this for dinner and it was really good! It’s a keeper ! Thank you

  4. All the other recipes say to brown the meat first after seasoning with salt and pepper. I’ve always just seasoned with McCormick Steak Seasoning before I browned it. I believe the browning is supposed to seal in the juices.
