Candy Corn Popcorn Balls Using Good Cook Products

candycorn-popcornballs

I was challenged to come up with a tasty popcorn ball recipe using Jolly Time popcorn and the Good Cook Popcorn Baller and I decided to make a candy corn popcorn ball to fit in with the fall/Halloween season.

The recipe I used was from Spoonful.com and was really easy.

  1. Put 12 cups popped popcorn in a mixing bowl large enough to allow for stirring.
  2. Mix in 1 1/2 cups candy corn. (set aside)
  3. Mix 3/4 cup brown sugar, 3/4 cup corn syrup, 6 tablespoons butter and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a 2-quart pot.
  4. Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat, stirring constantly. Stop stirring and let the syrup boil until an inserted candy thermometer reaches 275º.
  5. Carefully pour the syrup over the popcorn and stir well with a wooden spoon to evenly coat the kernels and candy.
  6. Spray cooking spray into the Good Cook popcorn baller and pack it full of the popcorn mix.
  7. Press sides together to make a ball and then remove.
