Here is a super fun project you can do using your Silhouette Machine and used Starbucks Frappuccino bottles. For next to nothing you can make “Milk for Santa” bottles to go with your Cookies for Santa plates.
What you will need:
- Empty Starbucks Frappuccino bottles
- Red and White adhesive permanent vinyl
- Ribbon to tie around the bottle
- Goo-Gone
- Rubbing Alcohol
- Spray paint (white or red to match the vinyl)
The easiest way I have found to get off the Starbucks label is to run it though the dishwasher and while the bottles are still hot the label peels off easily. However there will be sticky residue left on the bottle so I use Goo-Gone to remove that. Now the bottle will feel a little slimy and you will still have the expiration date stamped on the bottle so I take rubbing alcohol and wipe all over the outside of the bottle. Now it is totally ready to apply the vinyl to it.
Using your Silhouette, cut the words “Milk for Santa” out of red and white adhesive permanent vinyl. Place it on the bottle and it will be water proof so you can wash and reuse year after year.
Next, take the cap and spray paint it either white or red (Walmart carries white spray paint for 99¢). Once dry, you will never know it had the Starbucks logo under it.
Tie a cute ribbon around the neck of the bottle and it is all set for filling with milk on Christmas Eve !!!
Here it is paired with my “Cookies for Santa” plate (see instructions for how to make the plate HERE).
