Reasons Why You Should Add Tulum in Your Bucket List

Everyone has a bucket list of different countries they wish to visit. If you are indecisive on what to add to your list, it is recommended that Tulum is on your top five, no matter what type of vacation you are looking to have.

This article will provide you with a few reasons why you should add Tulum in your bucket list, and hopefully you will visit it soon.

The Beaches

If you are someone who loves relaxing on white sand beaches and views of clear water then you will not need any more persuading to add Tulum to your bucket list. This area is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Playa Paraiso is one of the most famous destinations for tourists, therefore is usually influxed with people visiting, but this does not mean that you cannot still enjoy yourself. There are plenty of other locations you can visit, especially if you want more privacy. Once you are sipping Margaritas by the ocean and surrounded by palm trees, you will truly feel you are in paradise.

The Nightlife

Tulum has great nightlife where you can let your hair down at the end of the day. Although many people visit Tulum for the beaches and the relaxing experience, you can still have lots of fun, enjoy yourself and get to know people if this is one of your aims. There are several bars you can go to for a drink, music, and good vibes. Although most of the clubs are affordable, the most famous ones such as The Pueblo or Middle Beach Zone may be worth visiting if you are not on a tight budget.

The Wildlife and Nature

Anyone that loves walking, nature, and the outdoors will simply fall in love with what Tulum has to offer. This area houses some of the most mesmerizing scenery and wildlife that you will not easily forget. There are many nature reserves where you can see animals such as spider monkeys, pumas, and jaguars as well as a diversity of bird species.

The Food

One of the most enjoyable things to do when traveling is trying the local food. There is something special about trying new flavors and textures. If you visit Tulum, it does not matter if you have any preferences or if you are a picky eater, you will certainly find something that you like to eat. You should most definitely not leave without trying the locals’ favorite ceviche, Sopa de lima, and tacos al pastor.

The People

The people of Tulum are nice and friendly and welcoming of tourists. If you decide to visit, you will be able to feel at home. However, you must remember the tourism etiquette when it comes to visiting other countries. Tourists do not always respect the locals, the culture or the places. It is known that tourism has significant negative impacts on the local area and on the natives of the country. Before you travel to Tulum (or anywhere else for that matter!) make sure to research what the people are like and what is disrespectful to their culture so that you can avoid mimicking such behaviors.

The Culture

Many people are enchanted with the immense culture of Tulum. One of the most popular places to visit is the Mayan ruins, regardless of whether History was your favorite subject at school. This historical attraction was built by the Mayans and it is located on top of a cliff, providing breath-taking views and it is one of the many Tulum activities that you can partake in. You may have to pay to visit the ruins, but it will certainly be worth it as it is not every day that you get to experience history with your own eyes right?

The Language

Embracing a different culture is a great way to grow as an individual – you get to see things differently and experience things that you may not have experienced before. However, simply learning about the culture of another is not necessarily enough – you must put it into practice. Of course, this means understanding the core values of the locals and demonstrating these during your visit. Another way you can achieve this is by learning the language. The official language of Tulum is Spanish – you should attempt to learn a few words (or even a few useful sentences) that can help throughout your stay. Tourists sometimes assume that speaking English is enough as everyone should know it, but this is not always the case. The natives will appreciate your effort and you will fit in easily if you try to communicate effectively. Besides, there are many things that get lost in translation, therefore speaking the same language is the best way to ensure that what you say certainly comes across.

Tulum is a beautiful place to visit not just for its beauty but for all that it offers. The reasons provided on this page should be enough to convince you Tulum should be one of your locations in your bucket list.
