DIY Personalized Elves – Make Your Own Elf on the Shelf Dolls

FullSizeRender (74)

Elf on the Shelf is such a popular trend to do each Christmas season but buying the elf is not cheap.  I found the perfect solution.  Dollar Tree has these adorable 9″ Christmas House Elves (both boy and girl elves).

Then I decided to personalize them with my kids names using my Silhouette Machine, white Heat Transfer vinyl (I use the Siser Easy Weed brand) and my PowerPress Industrial-Quality Digital 15-by-15-inch Sublimation T-Shirt Heat Press.

Now I have an elf for each kid and they can be their Mini-Me dolls !!!

DIY Kids Coloring T-Shirts Made with Silhouette Machine

DIY Kids Coloring Tshirts

Here is a super fun idea for kids Christmas gifts.  Just add a pack of Fabric Markers or even Washable Markers (so kids can color the design over and over again).

  1. Using your Silhouette Machine, trace a coloring page design from online that you want to have on your T-shirt.  If you don’t know how to trace an image, Youtube has some great how-to videos.
  2. Cut the design out of black Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV).  I highly recommend the brand Siser Easy Weed.
  3. Weed out the pieces that you don’t want in the design.
  4. Iron-on (or use a heat press) to transfer the HTV onto a plain cotton T-shirt. I personally use the PowerPress Industrial-Quality Digital 15-by-15-inch Sublimation T-Shirt Heat Press.

I know this would be a HUGE hit with most kids and it doesn’t have to cost very much.  I got the white T-shirt at Dollar Tree and have some washable markers that I picked up during back to school sales.  The little boy that lives next door is going to LOVE this !!!

DIY Frugal Project – Hurricane Candle Holders / Candleholders

DIY Hurricane Candles

Here is a really simple DIY project using glass pieces from the Dollar Tree to make nice Hurricane Candle Holders.  This is the perfect frugal way to decorate your dining room table, mantle, or end table.  You can even add vinyl designs to create holiday themed centerpieces.
