Reasons Why You Might Need To Hire A Skip Bin

Skip bins are a great way to dispose of your rubbish and unwanted items. There are many reasons why you might need one. For example, if you’re moving house or renovating your current home, then it’s easy enough to find waste that can be thrown out. But what about those smaller things like old furniture, broken appliances, or garden waste? A skip bin is a perfect solution for all these items!

Why You Should Use A Skip Bin

A skip bin is a container that allows you to throw waste into it, for example, during construction. The rubbish can then be collected and recycled. You use BBins.com.au to learn more about skip bins and available options when deciding on a project. The skip bin can also be used for recycling larger items. You may need to dispose of bulky waste from your home or a renovation project that would otherwise take up space in landfill sites and produce greenhouse gases.

Reason #1: Skip Bins Are More Convenient

Skip bins have a door on the front, so you don’t have to do any heavy lifting; you just load up your bin and wheel it away from where it is located without having to carry around or drag anything behind you. Skip bins also make for easy loading, as they can be filled one meter at a time instead of going back and forth to the truck.

Reason #2: Skip Bins Are More Cost-Effective

The amount of time spent to fill a skip bin is less than the same amount of time needed for filling up a truck. This means you pay significantly less in labor costs, as it takes fewer trips over and back again from your home or business location. The more often an individual who needs their waste removed has to be driven back and forth, the higher their overall cost is going to be.

So skip bins are a much more sensible option for homeowners or businesses that need garbage removed from time to time. Skip bins can also be rented on an hourly basis, which makes them even better value if you’re not sure how long they’ll take before needing to be collected.

The size of the skip bin also affects how much you pay and for how long. For example, if a person rents a medium-sized skip bin that can hold up to six cubic meters of waste, they’ll normally have it for about $140 per week. But renting out an extra-large one with 12 cubic meters will cost them about $190 per week.

Reason #3: Skip Bins Are More Environmentally Friendly

Skip bins use less fuel to transport waste, which means they emit much lower levels of greenhouse gases. They can also be loaded with a variety of different materials, including wood, metal, and plastic, so you don’t have to get rid of any hazardous items, such as oils or liquids, that could contaminate the environment if left out to decompose.

Skip bins are a great option for those who need their garbage removed from time to time. They can be rented on an hourly basis, and they come with doors that make loading easier than having to carry or drag anything behind you. Skip bins also have the added benefit of being more environmentally friendly as they use less fuel, emit lower levels of greenhouse gases, and allow for any type of material to go inside (including hazardous items). For these reasons alone, skip bin rental services should definitely be considered when looking into how best to get rid of your waste!

Kettlebell Kings Battle Rope Review

Disclosure: I was given the product featured in this post to facilitate my review. All opinions are 100% mine and not influenced in any way.

Battle Rope Review

Battle_Rope_Review

Recently I was sent one of the 1.5 inch / 50 ft Battle Ropes from Kettlebell Kings and given access to their Living.Fit website. After watching the Battle Rope continuing education videos which I talked about in my post here, I checked out the Battle Rope + Kettlebell Weekly Workouts. These workouts are divided into 5 types: High Intensity Interval Training which breaks each move into 20 second intervals and really gets your heart rate up, an ab workout using both the battle rope and kettlebell, “Strong Thighs Saves Lives” which also uses the battle rope and kettlebell to work your leg muscles, rotational strength which works your core and EMOM (every minute on the minute).

I then headed to the Battle Rope Challenge Workouts section to watch more ways to use my Battle Rope. I was shocked at how many different ways the trainers had come up with to use them. In total, there are 13 videos that show you techniques of various moves.   I really enjoyed this section a lot.

Finally it was time to go anchor the battle rope.  The site gave several options but we decided to use our fence post and a large screw eye.

Then we used a carabiner with a canvas strap (as suggested in their instructional video).  Using a strap around the rope instead of clamping the rope directly keeps it from fraying over time.  NOTE: the strap is a little longer than I would have ideally liked but I already owned it so we decided to use it and it works just fine.

I realized just how out of shape I am right now when I tried doing even the easiest of moves with the battle rope.  My boy friend did much better and got a great workout.  I am jealous that he got to do such fun things with it.

I am definitely excited to use the battle rope in my workout rotation to help build my cardio and muscle strength.  I may not be strong now, but in time I will be.  I promise to update this post once I get strong enough to do some of the moves on video !

Kettlebell Kings Living Fit Online Training Review

living-fit

Now that my boy friend and I are working out every day, I have been looking into ways to mix up my workout routine.  I contacted Kettlebell Kings and they offered me free access to their online training at living.fit to do a review.  The site offers a whole library full of videos for working out with kettlebell and battle ropes.

They recommend going in the following order (so that’s what I did):

  • Getting Started
  • Kettlebells Level 1
  • Battle Ropes Level 1
  • 30 Day Beginner Program
  • Follow Along Full Length Workouts

The first 4 videos are great educational videos if you are new to kettlebells and battle ropes.  I learned so much from them.

The “Getting Started with Kettlebells” video series went into different lifts and terminology such as EMOM, AMRAP and Rack Position.  I wouldn’t suggest skipping this video.

The Kettlebell Level 1 video series teaches you 5 common mistakes people make with kettlebells.  Some are common sense but it was good to hear all of them before starting.  It also teaches you 15 benefits from using kettlebells.  And finally it includes a 25 min follow along workout.

The Battle Ropes Level 1 video series goes over 32 frequently asked questions such as how to anchor your rope, how to use your battle rope, etc.  It also goes over 35 benefits of using battle ropes and 3 of the biggest mistakes people make.  And finally it includes a couple 20 minute follow along workouts.

The objective of the 30-day Beginner Kettlebell Program is to pattern good technique, and to teach you how to safely and effectively increase your strength.

Now that you are aware of how to use the kettlebells and mistakes to avoid, its time to work out !  The Follow Along Workouts are especially great for someone like me who is new to using kettlebells. First they go over what the kettlebell workouts will include and then they go through the moves while you follow along.  They will give you tips on how to do the moves as you go through them. They also give you rest periods during the workout.  There are 66 different workouts so you will have plenty of variety to choose from.

I can now say I am totally hooked on kettlebells and plan to buy a few more of various weights so I can get the best workout possible for each move.

Romano’s Macaroni Grill Wine Tasting Dinner

macaroni-grill-logo

A couple weeks ago I got to attend the first Wine Tasting Dinner at my local Romano’s Macaroni Grill.  Every location around the US participated and they plan to do them every month.  It cost $40 per person and included 4 courses and 4 glasses of wine and lasted 2 hours.  SO WORTH THE MONEY !!!

mac-grill2

4 courses:

  • Course one was your choice of antipasti… I chose the Bruschetta and my boy friend chose the Sausage and Peppers Flatbread.  The bruschetta was grilled rosemary bread with whipped ricotta, roma tomoatoes, garlic and basil.  IT WAS AMAZING !!!
  • Course two was your choice of soup or salad.  I chose the lobster bisque soup and Rich chose the Bibb + Bleu salad (other choices were a fresh greens salad or tomato basil soup). Both were delicious.
  • Course three was your choice of entree.  We both chose the Signature Truffle Mac & Cheese which was to die for (other choices were Chicken Parmesan or Parmesan Crusted Sole).
  • Course four was your choice of dessert.  I chose the lemon passion which is a citrus cake with lemon curd and whipped cream and Rich chose the Romano’s Cannoli.  Both were delicious.

*Food and wine choices may change from month to month but I am sure they will be just as yummy as this meal was

menus

For the wine pairing you got to pick which wine you wanted from a select list.  I was hoping they would pair the wine for you but they didn’t really do that for us.  Between Rich and I we did get to try pretty much all the wines though.

The next wine tasting dinner is going to take place on Wednesday June 5th from 7-9 pm.  Call your local restaurant to reserve your spot.  Plus if you dine with a group of 6 or more you will receive 20% off.
