HOT NEWS – Walmart Coupon Policy Updated

WHOO HOOO they now say that “Coupons may exceed the price of the item. Change may be given or applied toward the cost of the basket purchase.”   This is GREAT news because normally I have to stand at the register for 20 min while they get 3 different managers to come over and talk to me before giving me my overage.

Here is a copy of it… print it and carry it with you any time you shop there!!!  Walmart Coupon Policy

**the part about overage is on the left side

  1. Oooh, awesome! =]

  2. Wonder if this would apply to Wags RRs, though the “specific requirements” might make it not apply:

“Checkout coupons (also called “Catalinas”) that are printed at our competitors’ registers, have “Manufacturer Coupon” with specific requirements printed on them, valid remit address, valid expiration and scannable bar code”

  3. Well at least they would give you your change, I’ve been told “you can not get anything for free here” by a manager.

    • Including having cashiers sigh very loudly and smack their and get annoyed at the fact I’m getting stuff for free or they have to scan coupons.

  4. Ohhh good news!!! I pretty much stopped going to Walmart unless there was something i could only get there, because of the issues i would have using coupons! It got to be beyond annoying!

  5. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

We were in WalMart & the product was only 1.87 & I had a 3.00 COUPON the cashier had to go get the Manager & the Manager said NO WAY! Now I want to go back there with Policy in hand!!!

  6. FINALLY!!!!! This has been desperately needed for such a looonnng time!!! For me, it was always YMMV (your manager may vary). Lol.

  7. I was a little bummed, because this was the only store in my area that accepts free coupons. I understand that they still accept BOGO coupons. Is that correct?

it’s true. on tuesday i accidentally didn’t have enough stuff to cover my overage so my total was a minus 34 cents & they gave me 34 cents. i was dumbstruck. but the manager was at the register & said that’s the way it is now. so groovy!

  9. good news!

  10. We just left Walmart and they gave me back $8.13 in cash and the entire basket of items were free!!! Whoo—-Hooooooo.

  11. Funny you should post this tonight after I received a call from the Operations Manager from our local Walmart just a few hours ago. She mentioned that overage should have been given and that she was retraining all the cashiers and CSM’s on the issue. It is about time!
